Parent's Honest Guide

Finding the Right Development Center for Your Child in Saudi Arabia

Three years of trial, error, and finally success — here's everything I wish someone had told me before we moved to KSA.

Hello, I'm Sarah

When my husband's job brought us to Riyadh in 2022, I had exactly zero knowledge about early childhood education in Saudi Arabia. My daughter Emma was 2.5 years old, and I spent countless sleepless nights scrolling through outdated forum posts and asking random strangers at compound playgrounds for advice.

Fast forward three years — we've lived in three different cities, tried five development centers, and I've learned more about the KSA early education landscape than I ever imagined. This site exists because I don't want other parents to go through the same confusion I did.

Every review here comes from my actual experience. No sponsorships, no paid promotions. Just one mom sharing what worked (and what definitely didn't) for our family.

What I Wish I Knew Before Starting

  • Registration timing matters. Most quality centers fill up by February for the September intake. I learned this the hard way when we arrived in April and found waitlists everywhere.
  • Ask about teacher turnover. High turnover was a red flag at one center we tried. Kids this age need consistency, and frequent teacher changes disrupted Emma's progress significantly.
  • Visit during actual class hours. Scheduled tours show you the polished version. Dropping by during regular hours (with permission) gives you the real picture.
  • Check the outdoor facilities. With temperatures hitting 45°C in summer, indoor play options and shaded outdoor areas are essential, not optional.
